The fifth grade students gained the opportunity to demonstrate their public speaking skills and take pride in personal accomplishments. They participated in an annual speech contest on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. Until this year, the speech contest had been sponsored by Modern Woodmen of America, a fraternal financial services organization. Although this business sponsored contest ended, our principal Mrs. Mangold and fifth grade teacher Mr. Robaidek felt this event too important not to continue the tradition. This year’s topic was “What Does It Take to Be a Hero?”. Our students worked very hard to compose their speeches, and all are to be commended. Judges evaluated the speeches on their content, organization and presentation style. We would like to thank this year’s judges: Mr. Gordon Black, Mrs. Sharon Holl, and Mrs. Audrey Naliborski for their time and expertise. Thank you to Mr. Robaidek for organizing the event and working with the students to help them create their presentations. #ABVMKnights
