The Christmas Concert at Assumption B.V.M. School, held on December 14, 2017, was orchestrated by music teacher Mrs. Cindy Ludtke. The Preschool started the show with an English song “The Twelve days of Christmas” and wished everyone a Merry Christmas as they sang. The students in grades Kindergarten through five reflected on how to spread cheer to others as they sang songs from three different sources to recreate the famous tale of “The Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens. The Kindergarten crept through the English town stage scene dressed as mice. They told people to “Go Tell it on the Mountain” that Jesus Christ was born. The fifth grade busily worked in a building for their mean boss, Scrooge, and recreated the moment when Marley appeared to Scrooge, warning him that he would meet three spirits who would hopefully make him change his nasty ways. Carolers from the first grade were dressed in old time English caroling clothes and sang a set of English Carols. Scrooge and the “Ghost of the Past” viewed the second and third grade as Scrooge attended his old school and a party that included dancing. The fourth grade scurried around the town and acted out the parts of the Cratchit family and Tiny Tim. “GOD BLESS US EVERYONE” was their prayer for the season.
